The President of the Baptist Convention of Kenya (BCOK) has issued a heartfelt call to churches across the nation to amplify their efforts in supporting the poor and marginalized in society. Speaking at a recent gathering of religious leaders, the BCOK President emphasized that the church has a divine mandate to be the hands and feet of Christ, extending compassion and tangible assistance to those in need. He urged congregations to go beyond spiritual nourishment by creating initiatives aimed at addressing food insecurity, providing education, and fostering economic empowerment. Highlighting the widening gap between the wealthy and the underprivileged, the President reminded the church of its pivotal role in promoting justice, dignity, and hope for all people. Churches were encouraged to partner with local communities, government programs, and other organizations to create sustainable solutions to poverty and inspire transformation in the lives of the vulnerable.
